Montevideo, Uruguay, July 27, 2018. To celebrate World Hepatitis Day 2018, we want to reinforce our strategic alliance GBT – Gilead to work for the cure of viral hepatitis in our countries.

Seven million people in the Americas are infected with hepatitis C virus. According to PAHO, in Latin America there is a significant delay in the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring Hepatitis C (HCV) whose infection has a silent course. The diagnosis and timely treatment of viral hepatitis can save lives.

Aligned with the guidelines of the WHO, whose goal is to eradicate viral hepatitis by 2030, we strengthen our commitment to work together with you on that path.
